Airbnb cuts nearly 1,900 jobs as Covid-19 hits home rentals
Home rental major Airbnb Inc is laying off 25 per cent of its workforce or nearly 1,900 employees in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic, which has brought the global tourism and travel industry to a standstill.
“Airbnb’s business has been hit hard, with revenue this year forecasted to be less than half of what we earned in 2019,” founder Brian Chesky said in a memo to employees.

US now in next stage of Covid-19 battle, says Donald Trump
US President Donald Trump said the country has successfully managed to flatten the Covid-19 curve and that the country is now in the next stage of the fight against the novel coronavirus.
Trump thanked citizens for their commitment, adding that “countless” American lives have been saved due to the precautions. It, however, must be noted that US is the worst-affected country with 71,000 deaths and 12 lakh positive cases.
